These areas, located in the middle of the Po Valley, crossed by the rivers Secchia and Panaro have been, under the dominion of the Estensi, for a long time part of the Duchy of Modena and Reggio and you can still admire numerous architectural testimonies including the various Este Rocks in the area.
The nearby Mirandola instead capital of the Lordship of the Pico from 1310 for at least 3 centuries has given birth to Giovanni Pico della Mirandola famous humanist and philosopher of 1400.
In the municipality of San Felice sul Panaro, a municipality where you will find the MOLINARI ACETAIA, passes the Ciclovia del Sole, an innovative cycle path that connects Bologna to Verona, a local and evocative stretch of the ambitious European project Velo 7 to connect the North Cape and Malta cycle paths.
